Boyer Derise



Executive Chef and owner of Good Eats Kitchen, Boyer Derise was Born and raised in Delcambre, La. Food and hospitality were a way of life as a child. Family dinners were the biggest social events in town, and cooking and canning/pickling with his grandmother introduced Boyer to the culinary arts at an early age.

Boyer is a true Louisiana soul who loves the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. After high school, Derise attended Louisiana State University, where he studied Wildlife Biology and cheered on the Tigers. After LSU, he attended Louisiana Culinary School in BR.

Boyer has spent most of his professional career with Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. He was instrumental in opening the Baton Rouge location in 2004. His early career included a stint as a Sous Chef in San Antonio, TX in 2006, a period as a Chef/Partner Austin, TX in 2008, and concluded his restaurant career with Fleming’s as a Regional Chef, overseeing culinary operation of 11 high volume fine dinning steakhouses.

While with Fleming’s, Chef Derise took a short leave to run the production kitchens for the Johnson & Johnson and Omega Event Pavilions on the Olympic Green in Beijing, China for the Summer Olympics. Feeding VIP’s, Olympic Execs, and Team USA Athletes inspired his business idea of starting a meals-to-go service.

After a successful career with many milestones, Derise returned to his roots in Acadiana in late 2014 to spend more time with his growing family. After working as a sales rep and Corporate Chef for Fruge Seafood for two years, he left in September of 2016 to pursue his lifelong dream of  owning his own business, Good Eats Kitchen.

Married to Katie since 2011, Derise has two children, Louis (4) and Lisette (1). Even in his free time, he enjoys cooking for family and friends. When he’s not in the kitchen, you might catch him playing golf and fishing, spending time with his wife and kids, and occasionally doing so holding a great glass of wine or rye whiskey!
